The Arkansas Rural & Volunteer Firefighters Association (ARVFA) is an organization for all rural and volunteer firefighters and emergency responders throughout the state. ARVFA works to provide a unified, public voice in matters related to rural fire departments and the communities they serve.
ARVFA recently received a SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response) grant through FEMA for the purpose of assisting fire departments improve recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters. Efforts are currently underway to reach each volunteer firefighter and each rural fire department in Arkansas. The recruitment and retention campaign efforts include development of member materials as well as this comprehensive association website.
